We are looking for an OSW Consenting Manager to join us on our journey to a Brighter Future.
Key Responsibilities
- Overall responsibility for developing and implementing the consenting strategies for our marine projects (including Offshore Wind and Wave) in both Ireland and the UK.
- Managing the preparation and submission of permits, licenses and consent applications, including Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) that are robust, commercially acceptable, legally compliant and in line with key project success requirements.
- Effectively manage the risks associated with consenting and be recognised as the off-shore generation infrastructure consenting expert/authority within ESB.
- Lead the preparation and delivery of all required assessments, long-lead surveys, reports, statutory stakeholder engagement necessary to accompany consent applications for the programme of off-shore projects, including leading engagement with the necessary regulatory authorities.
- Work with the project team to define consent envelopes and to ensure environmental and consenting requirements are included in the design and enquiry documentation.
- Develop and manage the offshore consents plan and programme, including delivery of the key milestones required to achieve consent.
- Secure any additional environmental consents and licences as may be required through the development, construction and /or operation of the project.
- Lead the development and ongoing management of key relationships with statutory authorities for our OSW projects.
- Disseminate and communicate technical information in a clear manner to allow understanding and effective decision making within project teams and at senior levels within the company.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in managing and delivering permitting for significant infrastructure projects, including a number of years experience in a lead role in consenting offshore infrastructure projects.
- Level 8 Engineering or Science Degree or equivalent
- Demonstrated experience leading and managing a team
- A proven track record of delivering permit applications for large-scale infrastructure projects.
- Extensive understanding and working knowledge of all relevant national, European and UK regulatory requirements related to consenting.
- Expert knowledge of and practical large-scale project experience in Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA), Strategic Infrastructure Development and Foreshore Licencing.
- A track record of successful stakeholder engagements with necessary regulatory authorities
- Strong delivery and solution focused in a commercially driven environment.
- Strong experience in assessing, communicating and managing project critical consenting risks.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and manage risks associated with consenting in major infrastructure projects.
- The ability to organise work to meet deadlines and respond to changing priorities and demands.
Desirable
- Level 9 Masters Degree in Engineering or Science
- Chartered status of a recognised professional institution
- Professional qualification in Marine Science
- Project Management qualification
Location
This role is based in either E&MP Dublin/ Cork offices but travel to project locations across Ireland and the UK as required is a key requirement of the role.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their contractual jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

Salary
€86,000 - €101,000 per annum
