Position Description

A Senior Manager opportunity has arisen in the Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team within Enterprise Services supporting ESB Networks. The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function plays a pivotal role in enabling strategic, operational, and financial excellence across the business.

Future Senior Manager vacancies within Finance across ESB may be filled as part of this process.

 

Key Responsibilities 

General:

  • Senior managers are part of the senior leadership group and play a key role in the management of their respective business units, providing leadership, direction and input to strategy both within Business Unit and across the wider organisation.
  • Senior Managers are responsible for the delivery of business targets through the effective management of people and processes in a safe, inclusive and cost-effective manner.
  • They are also accountable for and are expected to deliver strong financial or other business outcomes through individual and team performance against stretch targets.
  • Leading and delivering organisational change is also a key responsibility.

 

Role Specific:

  • Lead and manage a team of FP&A analysts and senior analysts.
  • Deliver BU month end reporting and analysis.
  • Manage Budget/IBP & Forecast processes with the BU and agree key assumptions with business managers.
  • Review and challenge Budget/IBP & Forecasts outputs and resolve any issues.
  • Communicate financial forecasts and analysis of performance to Head of FP&A, BP’s, FC and ExCo.
  • Drive operational excellence by automating and streamlining processes.
  • Sponsor FP&A wide initiatives and/or represent FP&A on companywide working groups. 
  • Manage ad hoc queries and business decision support requests across the team. 
  • Manage relationships with key BU stakeholders.

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Proven leadership, relationship management and influencing skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of the Senior Management Team
  • Effective team player with a proven ability to engage and influence multiple stakeholders in the delivery of key objectives
  • Experience of working with a wide range of senior business stakeholders and partner companies
  • Proven delivery of tangible, commercial business results
  • Ability to work in a dynamic and changing business environment
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, people and customer skills

 

Essential Qualifications

Qualified Accountant with at least 10 years post qualification experience or equivalent.

 

Location

This position will be based in Fitzwilliam 27 Head Office.
