We are seeking a motivated Engineer or Technician with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in surveying, GIS, construction support and project management. Strong technical, analytical and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute to the safe and efficient delivery of transmission projects. 

In support of ESB’s strategic objectives of decarbonising electricity, building resilient infrastructure and empowering clients, this role will provide specialist transmission engineering support to ESB Networks. The role includes overhead line clearance assessments for ESB and third-party developments, overhead line design for capital and maintenance projects, and the application of LiDAR and Corridor Clearance Management System to support the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the transmission network. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Specialist support to ESB Networks on overhead transmission Lines 

  • Overhead line clearances calculations to ESB and third-party developments and infrastructure 

  • Overhead line design for capital transmission overhead line alterations and line maintenance projects 

  • LiDAR data processing and corridor clearance system management 

 

Experience and Qualifications 

Essential 

  • ArcGIS 

  • Surveying and use of GPS 

  • Site experience 

  • 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience minimum of 5 years 

  • Full Driving License and access to a car 

 

Desirable  

  • Overhead Line Design 

  • Data Analysis 

  • Project Management 

  • Stakeholder management 

 

Location  

This position will be based in Dublin, Portlaoise or Cork Office.

Salary 

€59,000 to €70,000 per annum
