Position description

 

 

A vacancy exists for the position of Station Finance and Administration Officer, Poolbeg CCGT. Dublin Stations currently comprises of Dublin Bay Power and Poolbeg CCGT gas powered generation stations.  The position is based in Poolbeg CCGT.

 

This position offers the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of a team responsible for delivering financial management at the station. Key priorities for the Station Finance & Admin Officer are to support the day-to-day operation of the station along with monitoring and supporting the financial management of the station in line with agreed budgets.

 

The successful candidate will be required to work to the level of their competence to carry out and to assist others in carrying out their duties. They should be a team player with good problem-solving skills. They will be required to work autonomously, be flexible and be a self-starter with the ability to provide support to other teams and projects as required. The successful candidate should be detail orientated and able to deliver under pressure during busy overhaul periods.

 

Excellent communication skills are required and the ability to support and work effectively with staff at all levels within and outside of the organisation is essential. This position provides an exciting and challenging opportunity to work within the Generation and Trading business and offers an opportunity to develop skills in finance and station administrative management

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out key finance duties including managing and supporting the prompt payment of invoices and preparing monthly and year end management forecasts and accounts.
  • Support the delivery of overhauls as the Station Finance Overhaul Officer, with responsibility for the overhaul budget. Ability to deliver under pressure and to urgent deadlines.
  • Carrying out key administration duties including supporting SRM processes at the station and creating shopping carts
  • Liaising with local teams and central finance and procurement teams on day to day purchasing activities and inventory control
  • Timesheet recording and reporting, monitoring of sick leave, adjusting annual leave quotas etc.
  • General office administrative duties including ordering of PPE, station supplies, training course coordination and management of third-party facilities contracts.
  • Stores management including the management of stock checks, stores re-ordering, management of stores accounts and stock movements.

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • 2-3 years’ experience in similar role
  • Strong communications and interpersonal skills
  • Prior experience of working with SAP and Microsoft Office
  • A good understanding of basic accounting and invoice processing processes
  • An ability to act independently working to solve problems and implement solutions
  • Highly motivated – be able to work on their own initiative and as part of a team to deliver high quality of work to tight deadlines
  • Extremely good attention to detail

 

Desirable

  • Prior experience of working with SAP SRM & FMIS systems

This position will be based in Dublin Stations

 

 

Reporting To

Engineering Services Manager, Poolbeg CCGT.

Salary

€41,525 - €48,852 per annum
