Position Description  

 

The Sustainability Reporting Analyst plays a pivotal role in the organisation's sustainability efforts by supporting the Reporting Manager in the accurate and prompt reporting of sustainability performance from Business Units and at Group Level. With a focus on transparency, compliance, and effective communication, the analyst ensures that sustainability data is collected, analysed, and reported in a timely manner. This role is essential in driving the ESBs commitment to sustainability and fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.  

  

 

Key Responsibilities  

 

Design/Update/Maintain Data and Reporting Processes 

  • Develop and refine processes for collecting, analysing, and reporting sustainability data 

  • Ensure appropriate control activities in place including sign off’s  

  • Stay updated on best practices and emerging standards 

 

Collect and Consolidate Sustainability Data/Metrics 

  • Gather and consolidate data related to sustainability factors 

  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of data sets 

 

Produce Reporting Packages 

  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc sustainability reports for various reporting periods including annual sustainability report 

  • Present data in a clear and understandable format 

 

Manage Reporting Process 

  • Run end-to-end reporting process, ensuring timelines are met and data quality is maintained 

  • Work with BU sustainability leads across the group to meet national sustainability targets and stated corporate environmental goals  

 

Reporting Governance 

  • Implement and adhere to reporting governance frameworks, ensuring consistency and compliance with relevant standards and regulations 

 

Engage with External and Internal Auditors 

  • Collaborate with auditors to provide necessary information and ensure the accuracy and reliability of sustainability data 
     

Supporting Assurance and Information Exchange Requests 

  • Assist with assurance and information exchange requests, providing data and information as needed 

 

Perform Pre-Assurance Activities 

  • Conduct pre-assurance activities to ensure that sustainability data is prepared for external assurance processes 

 

AD Hoc projects as required 

 

 

Experience and Qualifications  

 

Essential 

 

  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) 

  • 2+ years PQE reporting experience 

  • Skilled in data collection, able to gather, record, and organize information from various sources 

  • Detail-oriented approach to ensure accuracy in sustainability data collection and reporting, coupled with continuous improvement mindset  

  • Strong governance experience  

  • Proficient in performance analysis, including analysing ESG performance data, identifying trends, variances, and insights, and providing meaningful commentaries 

  • Good quantitative skills, capable of working with metrics, measurements, and KPIs 

   

Desirable 

  • Familiarity with sustainability reporting frameworks 

 

 

Location  

 

This position is based in ESB Head Office, 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.

This role reports to the Sustainability Reporting & Governance Manager.

Salary 

 

€57,900 - €68,000 depending on experience
