Transmission 2030 Optimisation Team - Business Support Specialist
Position Description
This role involves supporting effective operation, governance, and compliance of the Transmission 2030 team in ESB Networks through strong co-ordination, reporting, safety oversight, and administrative management. The position requires excellent communication skills, strong organisational capability, and the ability to translate technical information into clear, engaging presentations. The role also acts as a proactive, key point of contact for health & safety, IT requirements, SharePoint administration, and training co-ordination across the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Health & Safety compliance across the team, including monitoring and reporting, co-ordinating internal and external audits, and ensuring adherence to internal governance standards.
- Team briefing, workshop and event facilitation and management; preparing agendas, logistics, communications, and following-up on actions.
- Ownership of team processes, ensuring effective documentation, administration, and information flow.
- Development of high-quality slide decks and communication packs that translate technical topics into simple, clear narratives.
- Design, management and maintenance of team SharePoint sites, ensuring structured, user-friendly information architecture and good data governance.
- Raising and management of purchase orders (POs), vendor interactions, and related SAP transactions.
- Proactive tracking of team budgets, procurement status, and financial compliance.
- Lead the co-ordination and tracking of the team’s Training & Development, including compliance training, technical upskilling, and development programmes.
- Co-ordinatation of requests for IT equipment, software access, and support for the team.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum four years’ relevant experience
- Ability to act independently and take initiative
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent organisation and co-ordination capability
- Ability to simplify complex/technical topics into clear messages
- High proficiency with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, and collaboration tools
- Understanding of H&S processes, risk, and compliance frameworks
- Attention to detail with strong reporting and document management skills
- Ability to work collaboratively across teams
Location
This position will be based in an ESB Networks office (nationwide), supporting a geographically dispersed team.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€49,000 to €56,000 per annum
