Position Description

Treasury Operations provides a Back and Middle Office Service for treasury activities in ESB. The area is responsible for independent settlement and confirmation of transactions, monitoring risk and compliance with Legislation, Authority Levels and Group Treasury Policies and Procedures. It is also responsible for ensuring that there is a robust treasury control framework in operation including strong IT controls in respect of Treasury and banking systems.  The Payments team are responsible for ensuring that ESB vendor payments are processed correctly and on time, in accordance with ESB policies & procedures.

 

In the role the team member is required to provide support around treasury back office and payments processes including process improvement and treasury and payments governance. The successful candidate will be a member of the Treasury Operations and Payments team

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Treasury Risk and Governance reporting including monitoring and reporting on Treasury activity to ensure compliance with Legislation, Group Treasury Policies & Procedures and Counterparty Credit Limits and review and verification of Treasury Management Information.
  • Confirmation and settlement of Treasury Deals with internal and external counterparties, e.g. money market, derivatives, debt and facilities, and monitoring of compliance with debt agreements.
  • Creation and amendment of Counterparty Standard Settlement Instructions and maintenance of Treasury Bank Account and Dealing Mandates.
  • Provide backup and support to ensure vendor payments are processed in line with agreed policies and procedures and business requirements.
  • Support ongoing administration, technical upgrades and testing of Treasury and Payments systems.
  • Support for internal and external audit requests.
  • Support the identification and implementation of continuous improvements initiatives.

 

Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • A third-level qualification, or equivalent work experience, and minimum 2+ years relevant experience
  • Excellent numeracy and analytical skills with good attention to detail and an ability to work to tight deadlines whilst maintaining accuracy
  • Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills
  • Appreciation of basic accounting
  • Good communication and presentation skills
  • Strong team working skills
  • SAP Knowledge

Desirable

  • Relevant treasury or trading room experience
  • Previous experience in Accounts Payable or Payroll
  • Previous experience of working in a strong governance and control environment
  • Experience working in an operational environment 

 

Location 

This position will be based in ESB Head Office, Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.

Salary

€41,500 - €48,800 per annum (depending on experience)
