Position Description 

 

We have a fantastic opportunity in our centralised Key Control Testing function for a candidate who is highly motivated, with a strong accounting and auditing background and capability. The positions offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work as part of the Key Control Testing (KCT) team delivering a service to Governance and Business Managers, across the ESB Group, to test the operation of controls for key financial processes. The KCT team is responsible for providing assurance to the business that key financial controls are operating in line with identified and documented processes and identify opportunities for improvement of internal controls.  

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Through this team member role, the successful candidate will get the opportunity to support the delivery of the annual Key Control Testing programme across the ESB Group.  
  • Delivering the KCT programme to best practice standards. 
  • Responsible for the development of bespoke test plans to effectively assess control environments, and evaluate business processes, risks, and relevant controls. 
  • Leading fieldwork of test plans, reporting on whether key controls are operating and effective and presenting findings to key stakeholders. 
  • Prepare recommendations for control environment improvements as appropriate. 
  • Provide advice and input in matters of governance and compliance. 
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders. 
  • Delivery of continuous improvement initiatives and various projects within the KCT function. 

 

 

Experience and Qualifications 

 

Essential

 

  • A professional accounting qualification plus 2 years PQE with recognised professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA). 
  • Governance related experience or training is desirable. 
  • Excellent understanding of best practice Governance, Risk and Compliance. 
  • Strong stakeholder management skills. 
  • Strong auditing skills, ability to identify issues, root causes and corrective actions. 
  • Excellent communication (oral and written) skills. 
  • Strong knowledge of ESB’s systems and processes. 
  • Highly motivated – able to work on own initiative and as part of a team. 

 

 

Location 

 

This position will be based in ESB’s Head Office at Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2

This role will report to the Key Control Testing Manager.

Salary

 

€57,500 - €68,000 per annum depending on experience.
