Cybersecurity Opportunities


At ESB, we operate one of the most advanced and critical technology landscapes in Ireland. We manage a vast array of enterprise IT and OT technologies. These technologies reside in our state-of-the are data centres, in our power generation plants, and in our critical operations centres.


In addition to enterprise IT applications, databases and platforms, we also operate critical SCADA systems, OT and Plant/Industrial Controls Systems and critical Telecoms systems – all requiring the most advanced levels of cybersecurity to protect our businesses, and indeed Ireland, from cyber vulnerabilities.


ESB’s Cybersecurity teams are responsible for assuring the confidentiality, integrity and availability of ESB’s IT and Digital systems and data. To achieve this, the Cybersecurity team manage a complex set of processes, policies and technical controls to provide appropriate protection, response and risk mitigation for ESB.


As a designated Irish Operator of Essential Services, ESB works closely with the National Cyber Security Centre, and we are committed to supporting certified professional accreditation.


We are now looking for Cybersecurity Professionals to join our growing cyber teams with the following capabilities.


  • Senior Cybersecurity Engineering across all domains IT, OT, Azure, Cloud, Data
  • Senior Cybersecurity Architecture
  • Cybersecurity Operations
  • Cybersecurity Monitoring
  • Threat & Vulnerability Management
  • Emergency & Incident Response Management
  • Identity & Access Management
  • Risk & Compliance
  • Governance & Strategy

  • Relevant third level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.




Base Location: Fitzwilliam 27, ESB’s new Head Office, Dublin (Smart/Remote Working suitable)  


ESB is committed to offering flexibility in ways of working and we call that Smart Working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible and remote ways of working.


The successful candidate may combine remote / smart working within the jurisdiction (Republic of Ireland), with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review.
