ESB is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented, tech savvy team player to join the Stakeholder & Engagement team, whose scope of work includes engagement, public affairs as well as brand and reputation management for our Generation & Trading Business.

 

The purpose of the role is to provide support to the Stakeholder and Engagement team.  

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Lead co-ordination for high impact events and engagements
    Support the design, planning and execution of GT flagship events (e.g., conferences, workshops, site visits, launches, community engagements). Work with internal experts, senior leaders and external partners to ensure high quality content, messaging consistency and professional delivery.

  • Develop and curate high quality content for senior audiences
    Support the team to create and refine presentations, briefing packs, stakeholder notes, speeches, digital content and internal/external messaging. Ensure accuracy, coherence and alignment with GT and ESB strategic objectives.

  • Strengthen GT’s brand
    Work with colleagues across GT, Corporate Affairs and the wider ESB Group to ensure GT’s story is clearly articulated. Proactively identify opportunities to showcase GT expertise through events, media partnerships, digital channels, and stakeholder platforms.

  • Support GT’s internal engagement and culture-building
    Help design and deliver internal events, leadership sessions and communications that enhance awareness and understanding of GT priorities, strategy and performance. Responsible for event management, suppliers, invitations, and on-site event co-ordination. Identify, draft and publish stories that align with the internal communications strategy through outreach to GT business lines.

  • Contribute to tracking and managing external queries, supporting governance and approvals processes, coordinating inputs across teams, and maintaining visibility of GT’s major engagement activities.
  • Engage proactively with other ESB business units — particularly Corporate Affairs, Strategy, Customer Solutions and Group Comms — to share insights, improve alignment, and drive consistent messaging across ESB’s energy transition narrative.

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

Essential

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Third‑level qualification in Communications, PR, Marketing, or a related business discipline.
  • Strong writing skills with the ability to craft clear, concise, audience‑appropriate messaging for presentations, stakeholder updates, digital channels, and senior leadership communications.
  • Proven ability to create high‑quality visuals, short‑form content, and digital assets for web, social, and internal platforms.
  • Experience coordinating event logistics and shaping event content, including working with speakers and preparing materials for polished delivery.
  • Familiarity with approvals, budgeting, and procurement processes; able to manage workflows independently.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to enhance content, events, and engagement while maintaining accuracy, professionalism, and brand consistency.
  • Experience managing social media channels and producing engaging content.

 

Location 

 

This position will be based in ESB’s Head Office, Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin 2.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least two anchor days per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual.

 

 

Reporting To

 

This role reports into the Stakeholder Engagement and Events Specialist.

 

General 

It is not anticipated that a staff member still on probation will be eligible to apply for a promotional vacancy. 

  

Typically, an individual must have completed their probation and should have at least two years’ experience in their current role before being eligible to apply for a promotion. 

  

An application from a staff member who does not meet the above criteria must have the approval of both the senior line manager and the HRM within the BU before progressing to application. 

  

Note: For staff currently on non-monthly pay frequency, any promotion to Bands 5 and above will result in a change in pay frequency to monthly.

Salary 

€41,525 - €48,852 per annum
