Project Manager
Group Property and Security is responsible for property strategy and development, planning, security, and estates management of ESB’s commercial properties. We are currently examining several significant office and depot developments to replace older buildings and modernise work environments, delivering low-energy, agile, sustainable accommodation solutions.
We are seeking an experienced project manager with significant expertise in project management office functions to manage projects and provide critical support to other project and client managers in project management, governance, and program management.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage and coordinate all relevant activities of property-related projects from inception to completion.
• Ensure adherence to required safety standards on all projects, including the appointment of competent persons in statutory roles.
• Lead multidisciplinary consultant teams responsible for the design and delivery of projects.
• Develop contract and procurement strategies in collaboration with Procurement.
• Develop Professional Services and Construction Contracts in collaboration with Legal.
• Manage procurement processes for appointing design team consultants and contractors in collaboration with Procurement.
• Oversee project budgets, including contractors, consultants, and other costs, in collaboration with the Finance Business Partner. This includes establishing Project Expenditure Approvals and relevant Purchase Approvals.
• Ensure project compliance with BCAR, Building Regulations, ESB Policy, and Planning Compliance, including environmental standards and regulations.
• Collaborate with PMMO to apply best practice project management methodologies (e.g., PMM) to projects.
• Manage access requirements to development sites, including security, inspections, and site investigation work.
• Support the Group Property & Security Senior Management Team (SMT) in non-project-related activities such as staff briefings, business planning, and training.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
• Level 7/8 degree qualification in civil/structural engineering, architecture, chartered surveying, or a construction-related discipline.
• At least 7 years post graduate experience
• Project management/Project management office experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills
• Flexible approach, able to understand complexity and able to adapt as required
• Key influencer & excellent stakeholder management
• Excellent problem solver & decision maker
• Experience of co-ordinating multiple projects and advantage
Desirable
- Experience of project managing and reporting on diverse projects
- Experience of presenting project plans and outputs to senior management groups and project boards.

This position will be based in Head Office, 27 Lower Fitzwilliam Street, Dublin 2.

Salary
€69,000 to €81,000
