The capability of our people is core to ESB’s success. HR works in partnership with the business to ensure we can attract, develop, motivate and retain the talent required to ensure that success. The Senior HR Business Partner is a key member of the business HR leadership team, operating at senior management level and influencing and implementing people strategies and decisions within dynamic business environments. They will advise, coach and support the management teams on people-related initiatives and issues, oversee operational HR matters on behalf of their business and act as an essential link between the business, People Operations and Centres of Excellence. This role supports the business through ongoing change, capability transformation, and evolving workforce demands in the energy sector.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will:

As part of the HR management team, lead and support the business in the implementation of the People Strategy

Partner with the business in defining and implementing talent strategies.

Lead the implementation of key HR initiatives and processes in the business (e.g. future capability, people experience, SRP, succession planning, performance management).

Support the business in meeting its targets through the development, implementation and enabling of cost-effective HR best practice.

Track and interpret people KPIs within the business, identifying trends, insights and risks, and driving appropriate actions with senior business managers

Be the voice of the business and define business requirements in the development of HR initiatives and interventions in line with the HR operating model

Coach and develop HR Business Partners contributing to the overall capability, succession and performance of the HR function. Create a positive team environment and role-model ESB values & behaviours

Use insights from the analysis of people related data and leading external practices to influence and inform business decisions.

Lead and advise on organisational change initiatives/projects, ensuring optimal people outcomes

The successful candidate will demonstrate the credibility and confidence to operate effectively at Senior Management Team level, with strong judgment, resilience, and the ability to navigate complexity and ambiguity

For the role of Senior HR Business Partner, specifically the person appointed will have;

Strong relationship building and influencing skills and experience

Understanding of business activity and commercial acumen

A strategic orientation and ability to identify long term impacts of people strategies and decisions

Ability to work with colleagues across the HR operating model on a variety of initiatives and projects
-
Relevant HR/People experience, with a track record of delivery
Qualifications
A professional, relevant qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.
Membership of CIPD is desirable.
Location
This position will be based in Dublin.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.
