Position Description

 

The Professional Engineer (Constructability & Assurance Team Member) is responsible for supporting and enabling delivery teams to meet key business priorities by providing assurance to all stakeholders that all Programmes and Projects are ready to be delivered. By working closely with Network Assetts and Engineering & Major Projects, be responsible for reviewing the Project Brief and Scoping deigns and provide assurance for the constructability of Projects. For Programme delivery, provide expertise and innovative approaches in the delivery of the various Networks Customer Delivery programme items, including Projects, Maintenance & Asset Replacement.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate closely with all Stakeholders when development of the Project brief to advise on Networks Customer Delivery requirements and ensure all constructability and LCTAS options are explored.
  • Communicate into the Project Approval Process, including:
    • Review CPP/TA & SOW and comment on Technical & Construction issues.
    • Partake in PreCA meetings.
    • Partake in Project Ko meetings and provide expert advice on the constructability of Projects.
  • Lead with adapting best Practice and innovation to construction approach for Projects and Programmes.
  • Lead or Partake in Investigations and reviews when required.
  • Implement strategy, business plans, policies and innovation for cost effictive delivery of the work programme.
  • Partake and provide assurance in the generation of the agreed work programme.

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

 

Essential

 

  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the areas of Transmission and Distribution  Network activities is desirable.
  • Knowledge of relevant Policies & Procedures, Networks Operating Codes and Operation Standards including Health, Safety and Environmental Standards and Legislation and Networks Electrical Safety Rules.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with the regional delivery teams.
  • Evidence of delivering tangible business results.
  • Ability to work with a wide range of stakeholders and partner companies.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and report witting skill.
  • Good IT skills (MS Office).

 

 

Qualifications

 

  • 3rd Level Engineering Qualification is essential.

 

Desirable

 

  • Membership of Engineers Ireland is desirable
  • A full driving licence is essential
  • Flexibility to travel nationally / internationally is desirable

 

 

Location 

 

ESB Networks main office/depot.  Tailored working arrangements may be feasible and will be positively considered within the operational requirements of the role.

Constructability Manager, Programmes Network Assets.
