Procurement Buyer, Group Sourcing x4


The Role

Applications are invited to fill several full-time Buyer, Group Souring roles.


The role of the Buyer is to assist clients across ESB in procuring goods, works and services, achieving best value for money, while ensuring compliance with statutory regulations, internal procedures and the code of ethics.  It would also involve working closely across other procurement teams, provide assistance as required and may involve working on a variety of procurement related projects.  A willingness to commit to internal and external training as required is a feature of the role.

This role will report to the Sourcing Category Manager in Group Sourcing, ES Procurement.

The successful candidate may combine remote / smart working within the jurisdiction, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate spend outside of Framework Agreements for inclusion in existing or for the creation of new Framework Agreements.
  • Develop close working relationship with technical customers.
  • Conduct tenders and quick quote processes through eTenders, managing the entire selection process, including heading commercial negotiations for lower value contracts.
  • SAP contract management & administration.
  • Develop close working relationships in relation to procurement with internal stakeholders.
  • Client/supplier relationship management (external).
  • Supplier identification & sourcing.
  • Manage all procurement requests in compliance in line with ESB Procurement Procedures.
  • Processing of shopping carts in SRM.
  • Mentoring of new buyers may be required as part of the role.
  • Identifying areas for process improvement.


Essential Experience and Qualifications 

  • An appropriate third level qualification in Procurement/Supply Chain Management/other Business studies or equivalent work experience; electrical or mechanical craft qualification may be an advantage.
  • A high level of stakeholder management, judgement and commitment.
  • Good organisational ability, communication and interpersonal skills are required for the role.
  • An excellent working knowledge of MS Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Strong commercial acumen and influencing skills.



  • Experience and knowledge of procurement.
  • Experience and knowledge of SAP (SRM and FMIS).
  • A good working knowledge of SharePoint.



€35,00- €41,000 per annum.
