Forestry Operations Manager
Position Description
The role of the Forestry Harvesting Manager is the management of all Contractor delivered forestry harvesting requirements in ESB Networks. The role will, as required, draw together, lead and motivate a skilled team to deliver the specified projects in a safe, timely and cost-effective manner using both staff and external contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, influence and manage strategy and organisation change to optimise business performance
- Drive business performance and achievements of targets
- Develop, implement and manage business plans and policies
- Develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders by ensuring a culture of open communication
- Motivate and assist teams and individuals to achieve business goals through regular performance conversations
- Identify and proactively manage changes that are necessary in the organisation
- Promote team working in an open and communicative environment
- Proactively manages all relevant information within and outside own business area
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Essential
- Over 7 years’ experience of relevant overhead lines or utilities timber cutting
- Knowledge of Network Assets
- Project Management Experience
- Quality control Experience
- Knowledge of Invoice payment & procurement rules
- Experience of Contractor Management
- Experience of producing high quality standards and procedural documentation
- Experience of Managing contractor or staff safety
- ESB safety requirements for timber contractors
- Excellent communication, problem solving and report writing skills
- Experience and knowledge of IT systems associated with the role
Qualifications
3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience (of a minimum of 7 years) is essential.
Location
Location of base is flexible for the successful candidate, but travel is a requirement of the role.

The successful candidate may combine remote / smart working within the jurisdiction, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review.

This role will report to Forestry Operations Project Leader, CPG.

Salary
€71,000 to €84,000 per annum
