Position Description


Applications are invited for the position of Recycling and Waste Manager, ESB Networks Environment.  The main role of the Recycling and Waste Manager is to:



Key Responsibilities


  • Develop, influence and manage strategy and organisation change to optimise business
  • Improve Performance in the recycling and waste management area.
  • Drive business performance and achievement of targets.
  • Develop, implement and manage business plans and policies.
  • Develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders by ensuring a culture of open communication.
  • Motivate and assist teams and individuals to achieve business goals through regular performance conversations.
  • Identify and proactively manage changes that are necessary in the organisation.
  • Promote team working in an open and communicative environment.
  • Proactively manage all relevant information within and outside own business area.
  • Administer, analyse, report on and support changes to Networks Environment Management  Systems.
  • Manage the logistic service level and environmental aspects of all relevant waste management
  • Manage Contracts in ESB Networks to best practice standards and ESB sustainability objectives.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience


The successful candidate should have the following

  • Good awareness of Environmental legislation and standards
  • Good awareness of Safety legislation
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
  • Excellent team working skills
  • Ability to use IT systems to produce relevant and useful information and reports
  • Good presentation skills
  • Good logistics skills




  • 5 years’ experience is essential




  • Dealing with or managing contractors





  • Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.





The location of this position is flexible
