Position Description 

The National Delivery New Connections Supervisor is responsible for managing all line/cable and electrical construction maintenance and faults activities assigned to him/her. All this work to be done to time, quality and budget requirements.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan work and set priorities in line with National Delivery policy and Business Rules.
  • Management and safe delivery of construction work for the specified geographical area, including all commercial, industrial, and larger domestic new supplies, line diversions, response system improvement work, Capital Program Work for LV and MV.
  • Ensure that all work is executed to agreed SLAs and standards.
  • Ensure that all team members are scheduled using IWM system in the most efficient manner possible, minimising disruptive influences.
  • Ensure that direct reports complete all work safely, on time and to standard.
  • Ensure that all support systems necessary to complete the work are in place and operating effectively.
  • Ensure that all work is recorded as necessary for Asset Management Register.
  • Manage and develop staff.
  • Manage customer relations.
  • Monitor on-going progress and quality of work carried out by External Contractors.
  • Carry out quality and safety audits - staff and contractors – as per agreed audit schedule and give feedback on performance to staff and contractors.
  • Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders. 

 

Experience and Qualifications 

Essential

  • Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/A suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification with a sizeable electrical theory content
  • Knowledge of LV, MV, HV network operations
  • Knowledge of Network Assets and Standards; Sub-stations, Cables, Lines, Protection and Metering
  • Understanding of ESB's Group policies in all dealings with staff, customers, contractors, public etc
  • Knowledge of ESB Networks Safety Rules
  • Experience of managing staff, customers, and stakeholders

Desirable

  • Project Management skills
  • ESBN IT systems knowledge

 

Location 

Flexibility around work location – NPD are a national delivery organisation and deliver work across all regions with ~400 contractors. It is expected that the travel throughout the country will be required to meet with NPD and Contracting teams. You will be asked during the selection process about your location preference.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary 

€55,000 to €70,000 per annum
