The Role

ESB's IT Delivery Digital Factory is responsible for the delivery of Digital Products that supports ESB Digital Strategy. The role of Scrum Master in the Digital Factory is to create a high performing Digital Product development team. The successful candidate should be able to foster collaboration; improve the development flow efficiency; support and develop the team for the successful delivery of products.

 

As a Senior Scrum Master you will be working in the fast-paced growing Digital Factory – the team responsible for the delivery of Digital Products aligned to ESB’s Digital Strategy.  You will be responsible of the mobilisation, set up, & management of Scrum teams working closely with Product Owners and stakeholders across ESB business units in the delivery of Digital Products and Services.  

 

You will be responsible to ensure that correct Agile processes and practices are adopted by the Scrum teams and ensure best product delivery standards are followed bringing your own innovative view and experience into the picture as well. 

 

The successful candidate will report to the Digital Factory Product Lead or Delivery Lead as applicable and will be based in ESB's Head Office, Fitzwilliam 27, Dublin.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Organising and running the Scrum Ceremonies 

  • Set-up the team for success, agree ways of working and measures of success 

  • Provide measurable outputs to Product and Delivery Leads 

  • Improve team flow efficiency by removing impediments 

  • Ensure ESB standards and quality are maintained through all phases of development 

  • Support the Product Owner to understand more technical and NFR user stories  

  • Foster a High Performance culture in the team 

  • Assess the available development environment & toolsets and provide recommendations to the Skills & Capability Lead 

  • Train up ESB staff in the Agile approach, in particular the Processes and techniques associated with the Scrum 

  • Share knowledge and support to the Agile coach and other Product Development teams 

  • Assist in preparation of Business Cases, Expenditure Approvals and RFIs/RFPs as appropriate 

  • Manage and report on costs of the team and product development through all phases 

  • Input to Financial planning in Digital Factory 

  • Managing vendor relationships with external suppliers including the regular reporting of SLA performance and arranging regular technology updates for the relevant stakeholders 

  • Attend Solution Planning workshops and meetings 

  • Manage and report on Risks and Issues through all phases of development 

  • Ensure Products are transitioned successfully to BAU Support team 

 

Essential Experience and Qualifications

  • Scrum certification, 8+ years' as a Project Manager with 5+ years' as a Scrum Master

  • Third level education in a Computing discipline or equivalent experience is essential

  • Scrum certification

  • PRINCE2 Practitioner Project Management certification
  • Certification in Agile project management methodologies such as PRINCE2 Agile and/or SCRUM software development framework
  • Expert in Scrum Methodology 

  • Strong experience of software development systems and processes 

  • Outstanding analytical and problem-solving skills 

  • A proven ability to deliver on software projects in a fast-paced environment 

  • Strong experience in agile development and project management practices 

  • Ability to manage and co-ordinate stakeholder engagements and meetings 

  • Experience in ITSM incident and change management processes- preferably ITIL certified 

  • Excellent stakeholder management skills at all levels 

  • Excellent communications skills - Reporting, documentation/writing, and presentation 

  • Self-directed, innovative 

  • Experience with a wide range of IT environments, platforms and applications and keeps up with latest innovations 

 

Desirable

  • Experience of product development in large enterprises  

  • Experience of developing in Cloud platforms 

  • Knowledge Automation strategies and methods 

  • Ability to coach and develop teams 

  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices at all stages of the pipeline

Salary

€52,000 - €75,000 per annum
