The Role 

Enterprise Services Legal is looking to recruit a permanent and temporary Property Law Solicitor with responsibility for commercial conveyancing work. The Solicitor will, as a member of the Enterprise Services Legal Property team, be responsible for a caseload of files dealing with all aspects of commercial conveyancing transactions for ESB.  

This role will report to a Solicitor within Enterprise Services Legal Property team.

The successful candidate may combine remote / smart working within the jurisdiction, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the manager and subject to ongoing review.

Working with other like-minded members, we’ve committed to developing solutions that will ensure remote and hybrid working can become a sustainable part of our business.

Key Responsibilities  

  • The completion of commercial conveyancing transactions, in particular the acquisition of MV substation sites and the granting of easements, from initial instruction to completion and registration 

  • General commercial conveyancing work looking after the ESBN technical property infrastructure including regularisation of title 

  • Managing a large caseload working closely with line manager 

  • Working with/supporting other members of the team 

  • Meeting with and advising ESB business clients ESBN Engineering Officers 

  • General property law research and advisory work 

  • Advising on and ensuring adherence with ESB’s Corporate Governance frameworks 

 

Essential Experience and Qualifications  

  • Be admitted and enrolled as a solicitor in the state 

  • Minimum of 2 years of conveyancing experience in a legal practice 

  • Ability to work on commercial conveyancing files including drafting of contracts for sale, requisitions on title and deeds 

 

Desirable 

  • Ability to plan, organise and manage large caseload 

  • Can work effectively with others through teamwork and collaboration 

  • Can communicate effectively with others and carry out negotiations with third party solicitors 

  • Sound commercial judgment and “can-do” attitude 

  • Proficient in MS Outlook, Word and Office 365 package 

 

Salary

€43,000- €51,000 per annum.
