Timber Co-Ordinator
Position Description
This role will be part of the Timber management team within the Contracting Partner Group (CPG). The ideal candidates will be competent in SharePoint, SAP, Excel and developing reports. The role involves supporting the safety and quality function, providing support and development for both existing and new technologies within the business.
This includes the development of policies, procedures, guides and training material, coaching staff, managing contractor technical queries, and interacting with multiple stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Interaction with contractors to resolve Quality issues.
- Supporting the Transmission Programme Co-Ordinator
- Supporting the timber team and managers to ensure the required processes and procedures are in place to enable the team to operate effectively.
- Translate data and analysis into impactful, action-orientated reports for internal stakeholders.
- Be able to communicate the key findings and insight to senior stakeholders and peers both conversationally and in formal presentation style.
- Arrange a follow-up meeting with colleagues after they have received their analysis to ensure that it has been helpful and document any scope for improvements to the service.
- Provide expert advice and support for technical or report queries.
- Develop and build relationships with internal and external stakeholders by ensuring a culture of open communication.
- Identify and proactively manage changes that are necessary in the organisation
- Promote teamwork in an open and communicative environment
- Proactively manages all relevant information within and outside own business area
- Troubleshooting and problem solving for issues raised.
- Working with cross functional teams in the development of smarter digital solutions to include App’s and SharePoint sites and to meet the needs of the delivery organisation.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience.
- High regard for safety
- Relevant experience in tree or horticultural work
- A strong working knowledge of IT Systems – SharePoint, MS Office suite (In particular Excel) etc.
- Excellent communication, problem solving and report writing skills
- Full clean EU driving licence - Travel is a requirement of the role
Desirable
- Knowledge of the Overhead Line Network
- Knowledge of the ESB Networks Electrical Safety Rules
- A knowledge of tree species and their growth characteristics
- An understanding of pruning techniques and their influence on regrowth
- Project Management Experience
- Quality control Experience
- Experience of Contractor Management
- Experience of producing high quality standards and procedural documentation
- Knowledge of the ESB safety requirements for timber contractors
- Highly motivated, able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team

Further training will be provided for this role that may include, but not limited to:
- Contractor Team Lead
- Timber PICW
- UA1 IRL Basic Electrical Awareness for Utility Arborists
- UA5 Surveying
Location
An appropriate base location will be agreed with the successful candidate. Travel is a requirement of the role.

Salary
€57,000 to €68,000 per annum
