ESB Group Property within Engineering & Major Projects (EMP) provides the full range of acquisition and planning services required for electricity industry infrastructure projects in Ireland.

The role will require the Senior Professional Engineer to lead the acquisition of strategic sites for DSO substations across Ireland to meet the Networks for Net Zero 2040 strategy. It will involve working closely with a range of technical specialists, solicitors and property valuers to produce detailed reports for submission to ESB stakeholders.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identification of potential site options, production of site selection reports and feasibility studies.
  • Coordinate the development of layout drawings and Tailte Eireann compliant maps.
  • Production of site negotiation reports.
  • Engagement with external stakeholders to obtain site valuations.
  • Stakeholder management, landowner engagement and negotiation.
  • Develop risk register for sites to be communicated on to clients.

 

Experience and Qualifications 

Essential

  • Proven track record of successful negotiation and management of infrastructure site acquisitions and land/ lease agreements 
  • At least 5 years of relevant experience
  • Level 8 Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualification
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of planning, property, and environmental requirements
  • Strong stakeholder management skills.
  • Proven track record of delivery projects on time and to the highest professional standards
  • Full clean Irish driving licence and access to a car
  • Flexibility to travel nationwide
  • Demonstrable project management, documentation, and reporting skills

Desirable

  • Experience in the use of ArcGIS
  • Interaction and utilisation of public spatial data sets

 

Location 

Your base will be at one of our EMP offices situated at One Dublin Airport Central or Eastgate Cork.

Salary 

€57,000 to €68,000
