Position Description

The Fibre Operations Supervisor is responsible for managing fibre fault, alteration and services works that are required for fibre installed on the distribution network, in accordance with Service levels and forecasts agreed with SIRO

 

In this role SIRO is a key external stakeholder.  As fibre faults and alterations of the fibre network occur the Fibre Operations Team support the repair or alteration of the Fibre network. This requires extensive engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

 

The Fibre Operations Supervisor should manage relationships with Area Managers and Supervisors to co-ordinate the work including the forecasting, planning and management of internal crews and our telecoms contractor. 

 

Engagement will also be required with external stakeholders including SIRO & their Operations Centre (NOC), County Councils, landowners etc to ensure a smooth delivery of the fibre fault repair or alteration.

 

Safety, quality and delivery are key elements that need to be managed on site.  

 

Key Responsibilities

The key responsibilities of the role will include:

 

  • Co-ordinate internal and contractor resources and activities to deliver work in a safe and cost-effective manner 
  • Scheduling, tracking and reporting of updates & progress on individual fault repairs or alterations
  • Tracking of performance against agreed SLA’s into the Fibre Operations Manager 
  • Ensure a safe working environment for staff, contractors and the public  
  • Providing Fibre training
  • Safety and quality auditing of work  
  • Managing interfaces with internal & external teams 
  • Managing stakeholders including SIRO, county councils, landowners etc 

 

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience in supervision and delivery projects or programmes of work
  • Knowledge of LV, MV, HV network operations
  • Knowledge of Network Assets
  • Project Management
  • Understands and applies the relevant Quality Management Standards
  • Demonstrates knowledge of ESB Networks Safety Rules
  • Knowledge of ESB’s IT systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • 5+ relevant years’ experience

 

Qualifications

  • Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience.

 

Location

The Fibre Operations Team is a national team but these roles will each be responsible for interfacing with 2 of the following regions - Central, South Central, South East & South West Regional teams on fibre work – the successful candidates should be suitably located to interface in 2 regions.

Salary

€57,000 to €67,000 per annum
