Asset Performance and Data Engineer
Position Description
A standardised approach to asset health has been developed for ESBN. This approach is aligned with CNAIM and is benchmarkable with Industry best practice. ESBN has also evolved a CBA methodology to demonstrate value for our Capital investments in asset replacement and in conjunction with this we have procured an advanced digital solution to ensure standardised outcome measures. To ensure all asset data is standardised and that the metrics we report to CRU and other stakeholders are of high quality there is a requirement to manage, evolve and improve our approach to asset data.
The purpose of the asset performance and data role is to support data insights, reporting and improved asset information for Network Assets. With the introduction of Asset health, value-based decision making and the requirement for increased predictive analytics, the role of data and data quality is more important than ever for ESBN. The value of this role of asset performance and data engineer is to ensure proper data management and assure the validity of reports that are issued to key stakeholders internally and externally (e.g. CRU).
The asset performance and data engineer will provide inputs to Annual Regulatory reporting, support asset health and value-based decision making, support asset performance reporting and will drive SAP and asset catalogue improvements for Network Assets. These outputs will ensure we deliver consistent and evidenced information that supports how we manage and make decisions on our assets.
Key Responsibilities
- Superuser for new Copperleaf investment decision support tool and ensuring all data within this digital solution is fit for purpose. Data refresh of Copperleaf inputs on an annual basis will also be a feature of this role.
- Acts as point of contact between Asset Managers and all relevant business and data stakeholders to ensure consistent management of asset health/performance inputs and outputs for Regulatory reporting.
- Support asset health process by ensuring appropriate data sources are available and accurate.
- Support asset data management for Network Assets by interrogation of core systems of records and drive improvements in asset data where appropriate.
- Support asset performance reporting by ensuring appropriate data sources are available and accurate.
- Accountable for data improvements and for documenting processes for data extraction and mapping data sources to ensure they are fit for reporting purposes.
- Producing data reports for Network Assets and liaising with Network Asset teams on data issues.
- Investigation of any issues arising, liaising with ESBN data teams and key stakeholders to ensure issues are identified and successfully rectified with actions tracked on an ongoing basis.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Primary degree in Engineering/equivalent or Network Technician apprenticeship.
- Good understanding of the ESBN Distribution System.
- Excellent data skills.
- Strong analytical skills including the ability to set metrics and targets and provide tracking and trending reports and recommend courses of action to the Senior Management.

Salary
€49,000 - €58,000 per annum
