NW - Senior Contract Specialist
Position Description
The Commercial & Contracts team plays a key role in Contracting Partners Group (CPG), which sits within ESB Networks Programme Delivery, supporting the management of national framework contracts.
Contracting Partners Group is going through a period of growth and expansion. The role of Senior Contract Specialist incorporates a blend of regulation and standards development while also providing contract management support to the Framework Managers to improve business performance and strategy. The role also encompasses supporting CPG in managing all aspects of risk associated with managing Framework Contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Proactively work with the team and managers to ensure the required processes and procedures are enhanced and/or developed to enable the team to operate effectively.
- Lead the implementation of Contractor Management Systems to ensure robust governance.
- Champion continuous improvement in contract processes and risk management strategies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive performance and compliance.
- Lead the support of CPG team to manage all aspects of risk associated with managing Framework Contractors.
- Work in accordance with agreed guidelines, policies and procedures and influence where required.
- Provide expert advice and support through use of their in-depth (internal and/or external) knowledge and experience.
- Responsible for excellent internal and external stakeholder management, inclusive of government bodies.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Minimum of 7 years' relevant experience.
- Experience of Contract Management
- Experience of producing high quality standards and procedural documentation
- Knowledge of procurement procedures & guidelines
- Experience in Risk Assessment and Risk Management
- Excellent communication, problem solving and report writing skills
Desirable
- Regulatory Knowledge and Experience
- Knowledge of ESBN’s Safety Rules
- Knowledge of Network Assets and Standards
- Experience of Environmental Management
- Knowledge of ESBN’s design & construction policies & standards
- Experience & Knowledge of IT systems associated with the role
Qualifications
Essential
- Either 3rd Level qualification or equivalent work experience.
Location
The preferred locations for this role are Dublin, Portlaoise, Cork or Limerick however other locations will be considered.

The successful candidate will report to the Commercial and Contracts Manager, Contracting Partners Group, Programme Delivery, ESB Networks.

Salary
€69,000 - €81,000 per annum
