Position Description

This role will involve supporting the Strategic Programme Team with the planning and development of the multi-year strategic portfolio of work carried out by ESB Networks as part of PR5 & PR6. The team must ensure that the strategic portfolio is defined and communicated across the business. This requires data analysis and stakeholder management skills across various business units within ESB Networks. This also requires that specific project and programme milestones are initiated, and performance reporting is maintained and conforms to requirements.

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

This role will involve supporting the programme planning team with the following activities:

  • Development of strategic and multi-year work portfolios and plans across capital projects and programmes in the context of the prevailing price review contract, and documenting of associated programme planning and reporting procedures.
  • Development and documenting of the Technical Approval process with different parts of the business, in addition to managing and keeping up to date internal databases by issuing Technical Approvals, Capital Approvals and completing job number request forms for Networks Finance.
  • Preparation of monthly progress reports and quarterly portfolio reports for the strategic portfolio of work in PR5 & PR6
  • Liaising with the Delivery Organisations, Finance and Asset Managers to ensure alignment of strategic portfolio, budgets, expenditure and forecasts, and participation in working groups as required.
  • Responding to portfolio related queries from other ESB Networks business units and Freedom of Information requests.
  • General administration and other duties as assigned from time to time. (i.e. Distribution List owner, managing access and applying changes as required for some SharePoint sites). It also includes activities such as setting up master work orders; managing totally or partially the cancellation of any specific project; liaising with external suppliers; Purchase Orders related activities on SAP.
  • Participation in work programme development and monthly reporting meetings, and supporting the wider team to meet deliverables as they arise.

 

 Experience and Qualifications

Essential

  • Strong IT skills – Microsoft 365 (Particularly Microsoft Office Excel, Outlook, Word, SharePoint, etc.)
  • Report writing – strong attention to detail and quality.
  • Knowledge of ESB IT Systems – for example some of the following: IWM, ARM, PMU, BW, SharePoint
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • SAP FMIS and SAP SRM
  • Either 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience.

 

Desirable 

  • Skill in use of other software tools (e.g. Power BI, project management related)

 

 

Location

This position will be based in Leopardstown Road and or other Networks office locations.

Salary

€32,000 - €38,000 per annum
