Marketing Customer Insights Manager [Temp 14 Months]
Position Description
The Marketing and Customer Insights Manager is a leadership role responsible for translating strategy into high-impact, insight-led marketing, communications and customer engagement initiatives that support the delivery of our purpose to deliver a clean electric future and our "Empowered Customer" strategic objective. This position requires a blend of strategic thinking, creative vision, and analytical expertise to drive customer understanding, enhancing customer experience, and ensuring marketing and communications activities deliver measurable impact and support business priorities in a dynamic and regulated environment.
Leading a team of 10 professionals and as a member of the Customer Experience Management team, the role works collaboratively across customer support teams, operations and stakeholder management teams to deliver integrated, customer-centric solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Marketing Strategy & Implementation
- Design and deliver a fully integrated long-term marketing and communications strategy aligned with ESB Networks “Networks for Net Zero” strategy. Delivering clear, consistent communications across key target groups; customers, industry and employees.
- Lead the development of annual marketing plans working closely with all business units, managing budgets and achieving marketing performance and effectiveness metrics.
- Responsible for customer communications during emergency situations such as extreme weather events and large-scale power outages working in collaboration with ESB Corporate Press Office.
- Develop and deliver a comprehensive digital strategy and devise campaigns with targeted and innovative content for our key audiences. Manage digital marketing activities, including social media channels and content marketing.
- Management of effectiveness of all marketing communications and campaigns, governance of marketing budget and management of agencies and third parties.
- Ensure Official Language Act and accessibility communications targets are achieved.
Website
- Provide vision and leadership for the strategic development of ESB Networks website. Leading a 5-year plan for the evolution of the website.
- Lead optimisation of ESB Networks website and user journeys, ensuring strong UX and effective performance across AI-powered search, voice and emerging discovery channels.
- Lead the department’s approach to website performance, digital measurement and analytics governance, ensuring insights from platforms such as Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics inform strategic improvements, customer experience priorities and evidence-based recommendations.
- Stay abreast of digital marketing trends and technologies to maintain customer expectations.
Customer Research & Insights
- Lead all market research in ESB Networks including customer satisfaction, customer care performance, smart meters, brand, future network, online services, website, stakeholders and ad hoc business requests.
- Manage and design customer insight and market research dashboards and monthly reporting to inform stakeholders and support decision making.
- Manage, analyse and report on customer insights, consumer trends, market analysis, and marketing best practices to build successful marketing campaigns.
- Collaborate with front-line teams to improve customer satisfaction by delivering business insights with deep-dives across core journeys and customer touchpoints.
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage and mentor a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Set clear performance goals and provide regular feedback and coaching.
- Identify training and development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.
- Be an active member of the CX management team ensuring collaboration and integration.
- Lead by example, demonstrating a commitment to excellence and continuous improvement.
Experience and Qualifications
- A third level qualification in Marketing and Business or equivalent experience is essential.
- Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience
- Ability to think strategically and develop long-term plans that align with business objectives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Analytical and strong creative skills to develop compelling marketing campaigns and initiatives.
- Proficient in data analysis and interpretation to drive marketing and customer decisions
- Knowledge of current marketing trends, techniques and best practice
- Thorough knowledge of web, social, media analytics and marketing automation tools
- Strong influencing skills including senior management
- Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, driving high performance and engagement.
Location
This role will be based in ESB Networks office in Leopardstown, Dublin or Wilton, Cork.
Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary
€86,000 to €101,000 per annum
