Position Description

 

Coolkeeragh Power Station is part of ESB and comprises a 400MW Combined Cycle Gas Turbine’s (CCGT’s) and 56MW OCGT and is located at Maydown, N.Ireland. 

 

The Asset Project Engineer will have responsibility for plant performance, condition monitoring, technical support, and project delivery on site.

Key Responsibilities

 

 Duties will include but not be limited to: 

 

  • Plant performance and conditioning monitoring.
  • Collating and analysing technical and commercial data
  • Engineering support on the computerised maintenance management system
  • Develop and test site Business Continuity Plans
  • Engineering support on long term asset management via CAR and LTAP processes
  • Ensuring plans meet safety, environmental, quality, technical, and commercial targets
  • Managing site specific projects that have defined time or functional start and end criteria. These may include CAPEX projects, plant investigations, technical and commercial project assignments, audits etc
  • Supporting and leading project management of outages.
  • Development of contingency plans associated with the above
  • Engineering support to operations and maintenance teams, including management of plant modification and optimisation projects
  • Proactive involvement in Station Safety initiatives and activities, including acting as Work Controller under the station safety rules.
  • Additional duties as required by line manager

 

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience 

 

 Essential 

 

  • Significant relevant power plant experience or similar process industry in a commercial environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage stakeholders
  • Strong communication skills encompassing an ability to prepare reports to suit recipients at different levels of the organisation and make presentations as required
  • Strong IT skills.

 

Desirable 

 

  • Working experience in the use, development and management of planning software and computerised maintenance management systems

 

 

Qualifications


Essential 

 

  • Degree / 3rd level qualification or equivalent in engineering, or a related technical or science-based subject.

 

Desirable 

 

  • Professional registration with recognised engineering institute.

This position will be based in Coolkeeragh Power Station.

 

 

Reporting to

 

Station Asset Manager, Coolkeeragh.

Salary

 

£54,985 - £68,731
