Position Description

 The Training Design & Systems Manager is responsible for the IT systems and administration associated with the management and quality assurance of all training processes including training needs analysis, training demand and prioritisation, training scheduling, training delivery recording and business line reporting, He/she is also responsible for the overall Training Design process including end to end quality assurance of all training content across all courses for the full range of Information, Briefing and Training. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead the Networks Training Centre, Systems, Design and administrative teams to deliver a professional service to the business. 

  • Accountable for the design and development of content for classroom and digital training 

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Training Design approval process as to the Quality Assurance project. encompassing design, verification & approval, for end-to-end training delivery; ensuring legal compliance with policies, procedures, Company Standards and guides approved by the Safety Programme Interest Group (SPIG) via One Source. 

  • Act as the single point of contact on behalf of the Networks Training Centre for Training Programme Design. 

  • Manage the process of designing new training interventions as requested by the business in a timely manner working closely with functional experts form the Training Delivery Teams. 

  • Maintain an effective relationship with all stakeholders, e.g., Risk & Compliance Managers in ESBN, to ensure that solutions are agreed for the embedding of all approved procedures, documents and company standards prior to them becoming effective. 

  • Manage the learning systems & records management processes for ESB Networks staff and Contractors for all training delivered by internal and framework training service providers. 

  • Manage the Networks Training Centre course catalogue & document libraries in SharePoint 

  • Support all ESBN users of SuccessFactors & support the Technical Competence Specialist Teams & Apprentice teams 

  • Manage the NTC’s Key Performance Indicators reporting on learning performance 

  • Provide a range of IT support including to all NTC staff and the HV Test Lab including management of the NTC’s Virtual Reality exhibits. 

  • Support the audio / visual installations throughout the Networks Training Centre. 

  • Identify training design solutions that fully utilises the LMS in SuccessFactors in the delivery of new training programmes. 

  • Ensure all NTC courses remain current and achieve a centre of excellence standard. 

  • Control access to SAP SF and Networks Training Centre’s SharePoint applications 

  • CPC card & SRM approver for the Networks Training Centre 

  

Knowledge, Skills and Experience  

Essential 

  • A third level degree in IT, Engineering or equivalent and relevant experience. 

  • A minimum of 4 years people management experience 

  • A minimum of 7 years relevant experience 

  • Experienced user in SuccessFactors, SharePoint and Microsoft Suite 

  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills with the ability to absorb and interpret data and information to draw insights and inform future business decisions. 

  • Strong systems thinking and process knowledge 

  • Good knowledge of all voltage levels from LV up to 400kV across all asset types, knowledge of all disciplines including Construction, Operations, Metering, Stations, Live Work, Plant and Equipment, commissioning and Primary Plant, 

  • Good knowledge and experience of operational procedures and the operation of substations. 

  • In-depth technical knowledge of the Networks Business 

  • In-depth stakeholder management experience 

  • Ability to lead and work as part of a high-performance team. 

  • A result driven individual with a strong commercial insight, that has demonstrated an ability to drive and champion change. 

  

Desirable 

  • Good knowledge of ESB Quality Management standards. 

  • Knowledge of OneSource and Rules for Rules 

  • Knowledge/experience of AR/VR systems 

  • Qualification in Education and Training, Training Needs Analysis and/or Training Design 

  • Safety qualification/experience 

  • Quality qualification/experience

The successful candidate will report to the Technical Training and Development Manager.

Salary

€71,000 to €84,000 per annum
