Join our dedicated team where we provide specialist asset lifecycle management engineering services for ESB’s Transmission & Distribution businesses. The group provides specialist engineering services in all stages of the lifecycle
management process from commissioning new equipment to condition assessment of existing assets to end of life decommissioning decisions.
We are looking for a Senior Professional Engineer to join us on our journey to a Brighter Future.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsibility for leading and delivering the project management of transformer life management and root cause fault analysis investigations on Transmission, Distribution and Generation transformer assets.
- Responsibility as senior engineer on international projects, fault investigations and asset health projects for clients such as EWA, Bahrain.
- Responsibility for major Transformer & Reactor refurbishment and rebuild projects.
- Management and implementation of on-line monitoring programmes.
- Delivery and quality control of oil regeneration and oil filtration work programmes.
- Manage relationships with relevant stakeholders, clients, OEM’s and service providers
- Mentor new entrants and colleagues
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Essential
- Minimum of 5 years post qualification experience
- Strong project management and program management skills and knowledge
- Strong technical knowledge of transmission and distribution substations plant with emphasis on transformer assets
- A proven track record in delivering substation maintenance projects
- Excellent record of stakeholder management
- Strong contractor negotiation skills
- Have an in-depth knowledge of ESB processes and practices
- Knowledge of relevant policies and procedures, Design Standards including Health, Safety and Environmental Standards and Legislation and Electrical
- The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
- Ability to mentor new entrants and colleagues
- Full Driving Licence and access to a car
Desirable
- Membership of Professional Industry Body (Engineers Ireland, IET, Cigre etc.)
Qualifications
Essential
Level 8 Engineering /other relevant 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience
Desirable
Chartership in engineering discipline
Location
This role is based in either E&MP Dublin/ Cork offices but travel to project locations as required is a key requirement of the role.

Reporting to
Reporting to the Senior Team Leader, Transformer Specialist Team, Substations Maintenance, TDE
Salary
€57,000 to €68,000 per annum.
