Join our team in Transmission & Distribution Delivery where we provide the full range of planning, design, construction and maintenance services required for electricity industry infrastructure projects in Ireland and overseas.

 

The Quantity Surveyor role will encompass all aspects of quantity surveying and cost management for our full range of civil engineering projects including electrical substation and infrastructure developments, ducting & cabling works, general civil engineering and construction projects. The role will involve close liaison with Senior Quantity Surveyors and other design professionals, clients and contractors.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Assisting with the cost management function throughout all phases of a project 
  • Measurement tasks for preparation of Budget Costs and Bills of Quantities 
  • Assisting with the preparation of Order of Magnitude Costs 
  • Assisting with post contract commercial management duties including assessment of valuations, variations & claims. 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential

 

The successful candidate will have:

  • Minimum Quantity Surveying experience of 4 years (Post Qualification)
  • Proven track record of delivery projects on time and to the highest professional standards
  • Self-motivation and ability to coordinate with those working alongside him/her
  • Proven record of being results driven and customer oriented.
  • Full clean Irish/EU driving licence and access to a car.
  • A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service
  • Knowledge of the administration of main conditions of contract including FIDIC Conditions of Contract
  • Ability to make quality decisions and judgements
  • A clear focus on delivery of high-quality work

 

Desirable

  • Experience in the use of Buildsoft & Cubit software would be advantageous
  • Experience in Civil Engineering / Utility projects would be advantageous

 

 

Qualifications

 

Essential

  • Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification 

 

Desirable

  • MRICS/MSCSI qualified, with Legal Registration under the Building Control Act 2007

 

 

Location

 

The position will be based in One Dublin Airport Central or Eastgate Cork. Travel nationwide is a feature of this role.

Reporting to

 

Reporting to the Senior Team leader, Design Contracting Team within Transmission & Distribution Delivery Department, ESB Engineering & Major Projects.

 

 

Salary

 

€43,000 to €51,000 per annum
