Position: Quantity Surveyor

Our team in the Centre of Engineering provides the full range of planning, design, construction and maintenance services requires for electricity industry infrastrucutre projects in Ireland and overseas. The Quantity Surveyor role will encompass all aspects of quantity surveying and cost management for our full range of civil engineering projects including electrical substation and infrastructure developments, ducting & cabling works, general civil engineering and construction projects. The role will involve close liaison with Senior Quantity Surveyors and other design professionals, clients and contractors.
Key Responsibilities
- Pre & Post Contract Commercial Management duties from preparation of Order of Magnitude Costs, Bills of Quantities and tender documentation through to tender assessment, valuations and management of post contract changes
- Liaison with Procurement Function and report writing
- Promoting the safety management culture across all activities demonstrating visible commitment to safety
- Assist with mentoring and professional development of junior staff
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate will have the following skills and qualifications: -
Essential
- Minimum Quantity Surveying experience of 5 years (Post Qualification)
- Proven track record of delivery projects on time and to the highest professional standards
- Self-motivation and ability to project-manage own work and coordinate with those working alongside him/her
- Proven record of being results driven and customer oriented.
- Full clean Irish/EU driving licence and access to a car.
- A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service
- Knowledge of the administration of main conditions of contract including FIDIC Conditions of Contract
Desirable
- Experience in the use of Buildsoft & Cubit software would be advantageous
- Experience in Civil Engineering / Utility projects would be advantageous
Qualifications
Essential
- Level 8 Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent qualification
Desirable
- MRICS/MSCSI qualified, with Legal Registration under the Building Control Act 2007
Location
The position will be based in ESB EMP’s Offices at either One Dublin Airport Central or Eastgate Cork but you will be required to travel nationally in the course of general duties.

Salary
€52,000 to €62,000 per annum
