Position Description

A Networks Training Officer provides a variety of training and development services to the Networks business including the design, Construction, Maintenance, Operations and Commissioning of Networks assets at all voltage levels and the apprentice programme in various ESB Networks locations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Delivering practical, high-quality technical training aligned with ESB Networks safety, quality and operational standards.
  • Supporting the delivery of a Training Centre of Excellence to inspire Safety and Quality   standards in the business.
  • Carrying out training needs analysis and recommending best practice solutions.
  • Designing and delivering training solutions within agreed timeframes to Networks quality standard.
  • Assisting in the development of work procedures and methods.
  • Improving and modifying training courses using customer feedback.
  • Duties necessary for the effective administration of a modern training business.
  • Assisting ESB Networks attain its objectives in relation to its high level of Safety standards required.

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

Essential

  • Advanced Level 6 Electrical Craft Certificate/A suitable Level 7 or higher qualification in Electrical, Electrical Services, Electronics, Mechanical or other suitable alternative qualification with a sizeable electrical theory content
  • 3+ years relevant work experience is essential 
  • High level of Technical Competence
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills
  • In-depth technical knowledge of the Networks Business
  • Knowledge of ESB’s Corporate IT systems
  • Good attention to detail
  • Full, clean driving licence required - travel is a feature of the role

 

Desirable

  • Training Delivery Experience
  • Power Network Operations Experience
  • Train the Trainer Qualification

 

Location

Networks Training Centre, Portlaoise.  

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the  jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Training Delivery Manager in NTC.

Salary

€59,000 to €70,000 per annum
