Commercial Specialist, Smart Energy Services
Position Description
We are seeking an experienced, commercially driven Commercial Specialist to support the continued growth of Smart Energy Services (SES) and play a key role in helping our customers progress their Net Zero and decarbonisation ambitions. This is a highly collaborative, customer‑centric role, working closely with Sales, Engineering and Delivery teams to structure and deliver technically sound, commercially robust energy solutions that create long‑term value.
Smart Energy Services was established to design, develop and deliver integrated energy management solutions for large energy users across Ireland and the UK. SES supports businesses in their Net Zero transition through tailored solutions encompassing energy efficiency, on‑site generation and demand‑side management technologies. We work in partnership with our customers to develop innovative technical and commercial models that reduce carbon emissions, manage energy costs and deliver sustainable, long‑term shared value.
As Commercial Specialist, you will be responsible for safeguarding and enhancing the commercial and financial interests of SES, managing contractual, legal and commercial risk across a diverse portfolio of energy and infrastructure projects. You will support opportunities from early‑stage development and business case formation through to contract negotiation, award and project delivery, ensuring that risk, income and expenditure are effectively controlled.
This is a pivotal role for a commercial professional who wants to work at the forefront of the energy transition, shaping projects that deliver measurable environmental and commercial impact.

-
Define and implement project‑specific contract strategies that protect margin, support delivery certainty and align with wider business objectives
-
Identify, assess and manage commercial risk, maintaining proposition risk schedules and securing all required internal approvals in line with governance requirements
-
Develop and apply financial and commercial models to assess profitability, value creation and risk across new opportunities and live projects
