Revenue Control Manager ecars Customer Solutions
Position Description
Electrification of transport is a key pillar of ESB’s Net Zero Strategy – reducing the carbon impact from transport and improving air-quality while growing our business.
ecars operates the largest public Electric Vehicle (EV) charging network on the island of Ireland and is also expanding its network and operations in Great Britian. ecars has over 1000 chargers currently in operation with an ambitious investment program to support the continued growth of its networks.
Reporting to the ecars Revenue & Payments Manager, the Revenue Control Manager is responsible for the end-to-end revenue, cash collection and debt management process. Weekly reconciliation of all revenue and incoming payments across multiple customer products and payment mechanisms will be a central focus of this role to ensure that systems and products are performing appropriately and to identify any irregularities with particular attention to potentially fraudulent activity. The Revenue Control Manager will also investigate and resolve (working with other ecars teams as required) any irregularities identified in weekly reconciliations. The Revenue Control Manager will work closely with the Commercial Team and IT Team during the development and deployment of new customer products to ensure that all products perform as expected from a system perspective.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development: Lead and support a high-performing team with diverse skill sets, fostering individual development and resilience across the Payments and Revenue Control function.
Process & Internal Control Implementation: Design and roll out robust, end-to-end processes and controls for revenue, payments, reconciliation, and debt management across both B2C and B2B operations. Lead budgeting and IBP forecasting for revenue and debt collection for the business, aligning with commercial strategies across jurisdictions.
Contractual Compliance & Payment Controls: Ensure supplier and landlord payments are accurately processed, contractually compliant, and governed by a strong control framework to prevent breaches.
Reconciliation & Fraud Monitoring: Oversight Implement rigorous reconciliation processes to validate system integrity and proactively identify any irregularities or potentially fraudulent activities.
B2B Relationship & Contract Governance: Strategically manage B2B partnerships to ensure full compliance with payment terms and contractual obligations, proactively identifying opportunities for improvement and renegotiation while serving as the key liaison for cross-functional coordination and effective contract governance.
Governance, Risk & Reporting: Drive internal governance by supporting the maintenance and monitoring of the Risk Control Matrix and Risk Log, and delivering high-quality monthly and quarterly reports.
Cross-Functional Alignment & Financial Accuracy: Collaborate with Customer Experience, Business Development, Finance, and IT teams to ensure consistent financial reporting and system alignment, particularly around revenue, costs, debtors, creditors, and bank transactions.
Experience and Qualifications
- Degree level or higher qualification in business, finance, accounting or relevant field.
- Proven experience (7 + years) in relevant roles (financial / commercial experience).
- Excellent analytical skills
- Strong communications and interpersonal skills.
- Full clean driving licence
Location
The role will be based in ESB’s Offices in Swift Square but given the geographic distribution of ecars’ VE charging network, travel in Ireland and the UK will be a feature of this role. Occasional wider travel will also be required such as visit with suppliers.

Salary
€69,000 – €81,000 per annum
