Product Manager [15 Months]
Position Description
ESB Customer Solutions, Electric Ireland is the primary customer facing business unit of the ESB Group and is the leading energy supplier in Ireland. With over 1.5 million customers in both the Republic and Northern Ireland and an annual turnover in excess of €2bn, it is the main customer interface for the ESB Group.
This is an exciting opportunity for an energetic individual to work in the Net Zero Products & Innovation (NZP) team. The NZP team is responsible for the development and delivery of new & existing products and services, which support sustainable energy use, to Electric Ireland customers. This role will involve working in a product and contract management capacity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and Launch Customer-Centric Propositions. Lead the end-to-end development of innovative customer propositions, from concept, to pilot, through to commercial launch, by leveraging customer insights, market intelligence, and collaboration across internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage Strategic Partnerships and Contractor Relationships. Oversee third-party delivery partners and service providers, ensuring effective onboarding, performance management, and alignment with safety, quality, and customer service standards.
- Drive Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement. Manage day-to-day operational contract management activities including KPI reporting, service delivery tracking, and performance reviews. Identify and implement process improvements across customer journeys, systems, and service delivery models.
- Ensure Compliance, Safety, and Quality Standards. Champion Health, Safety, Environment, and Quality (SHEQ) across all activities. Ensure all operations, including those of contractors, comply with company and industry standards, technical guidelines, and safety reporting requirements.
- Support Procurement and Commercial Governance. Lead procurement processes for new products and partners, including preparation and evaluation. Ensure financial governance, value for money, and effective management of contractor and customer payments.
- Contribute to Product Roadmap and Technical Enablement. Provide technical expertise and support for the development of the Net Zero product suite. Contribute to the strategic roadmap and deliver training and guidance to internal teams to build capability and readiness.
Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- 3rd level qualification in a technical discipline, or equivalent work experience.
- At least 5 years industry experience in a technical role in a utility or technology company
- Technical background and ability to understand energy services technologies and solutions.
- Contract Management experience of domestic and / or commercial energy technologies.
- Experience in the management of Safety, Healthy, Environment and Quality in a construction related environment operating a main contractor/subcontractor model.
- Passion for product, technology, innovation, and creation of great customer experiences
- Strong written and oral communication skills and a practical, common-sense approach to getting things done.
Desirable
- Prior experience working in a B2C role.
- Experience of launching customer propositions to residential customers.
- Experience of development of business cases.
- Data analytics skills.
- Understanding of the energy market.
Location
This position will be based in Electric Ireland, Swift Square, Northwood Business Park, Santry, Dublin 9.

Salary
€57,900 - €68,100 per annum (depending on experience)
