Position description

 

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Commercial Credit Control team within Customer Solutions at Electric Ireland. The role supports the effective management and collection of commercial customer debt, ensuring credit control activities are delivered in line with agreed policies, procedures and regulatory requirements, while maintaining strong commercial and customer focus. 

 

This role supports ESB’s strategic objectives by ensuring effective management of commercial customer debt, enabling sustainable revenue collection that underpins investment in decarbonisation, resilient infrastructure and improved customer outcomes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

  • Support day-to-day credit control activities across commercial customer accounts (SME and LEU). 
  • Assist in the timely collection of outstanding commercial debt in line with Credit Control policies and guidelines. 
  • Engage with commercial customers regarding arrears, payment arrangements and account queries in a professional manner. 
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on customer accounts across core billing and finance systems. 
  • Support the delivery of team KPIs, including preparation of reports, data extracts and analysis. 
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and outsourced partners to support effective commercial debt resolution. 
  • Assist with preparation of cases for escalation, referral, or write-off in line with governance requirements. 

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

Essential

  • Strong customer service and communication skills, with the ability to engage confidently with commercial customers. 
  • Good attention to detail and ability to work accurately with financial and customer data. 
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced operational environment. 
  • Comfortable working with systems and reports (e.g. SAP, billing or finance systems). 
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook. 
  • An interest in credit control, finance or commercial customer operations. 

 

Desirable

  • Previous experience in credit control, billing, finance or customer operations is desirable. 
  • Experience working with billing, finance or ERP systems (e.g. SAP or similar large-scale systems).

 

 

Location

 

This position will be based in Santry

 

Smart Working at ESB is designed to make ‘in-person’ time together as purposeful as possible while also enabling the effective use of digital tools and hybrid arrangements to preserve our commitment to flexibility. The successful candidate may work flexibly within the jurisdiction where they have been employed, with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration at least two days per week. All Smart Working arrangements are subject to regular review based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the business.

Salary 

 

€33,500 - €40,200 per annum, depending on experience
