Specialist Sales Channel Manager (18 Months) - Band 5
The Role
The successful candidate will manage sales of gas, electricity and other value added services or products via multiple channels such as, but not limited to: brokers, telesales, field sales and other channels such as online or other specialised outsource partners. They will work with the Business Sales Support team and Portfolio sales team to deliver excellent service to business customers, achieve growth and retention sales targets in respect of retail electricity, retail gas and including energy services as required. This position entails close working relationships with many other areas of the business including Operations, Finance, IT and Marketing in addition to the wider customer solutions business.
This role will report to the Business Sales Manager and will be based in Swift Square, Santry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the drive for sales growth and retention through delivery of agreed sales objectives/ targets.
- Contribute to the development of sales, retention, customer relationship and marketing strategy in the Gas and Electricity and energy services retail area through collaboration with B2B business management team and other teams within the wider Customer Solutions business.
- Meet sales objectives by forecasting requirements; managing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Forecast and develop annual sales quotas for products/regions; projecting expected sales volume for existing and new products; analysing trends and results; assist the mgmt. team to establish pricing strategies; monitor costs, competition, supply, and demand.
- Build and maintain an in-depth knowledge of the operation of the gas and electricity and energy services markets in Ireland so as to contribute positively to Electric Ireland’s strategic objectives.
- Identify sales and marketing opportunities by identifying consumer requirements; defining market/competitor knowledge, and competitor's strengths and weaknesses; forecasting projected business; establishing targeted market share.
- Provides information by collecting, analysing, and summarising data and trends.
- Develop and manage relationships with customers and other industry stakeholders including brokers, consultants, trade bodies and service providers
- Work closely with wider Business Sales team to identify areas for process improvement and for customised service solutions to meet the needs of relevant customer groups and stakeholders.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Minimum of 4-5 years' experience in a similar role.
- Either 3rd level qualification or equivalent work experience is essential.
- Experience in managing B2B sales teams and or B2B sales outsource partners.
- Relevant knowledge of the Electricity, Gas AND energy services markets with a commercial focussed approach
- Experience in leading and managing outsource partners and teams in a B2B environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and high level of confidence using excel, powerpoint, MS Teams etc
- Innovation and creativity to adapt to changing environments / circumstances
- Must be prepared to travel – full (clean) driving license
Desirable
- Knowledge of wholesale or retail electricity markets would be an advantage but not essential.

Salary
€52,000 - €65,000 per annum
