Data Analyst, Networks IT & Data Strategy, Asset Management
Position Description
The successful candidate will report to the Data Analytics & Strategy Manager, Networks Assets and will work within the Networks business as a data and business intelligence specialist. The successful candidate will be responsible for helping ESB Networks become a more data driven organisation. The successful candidate will be responsible to helping drive a change in culture within networks by showing the value data analytics can bring to the organisation. The Analytics team provide a service to all parts of the Networks business including large transformational programmes like Powering Ahead and DMSO.
Key Responsibilities
The role of the Data Analyst is to be a Business centric resource, helping ESB Networks extract value from the large amounts of data available within the organisation. Some of the tasks required as part of the role are:

To work with business stakeholders to look at resolving data issues by creating reports and dashboards hence supporting key decision making

To assist the creation of BI and Analytics requirements for Data Engineering work for the centralised Data Analytics HUB where relevant

Perform basic data modelling in delivery of solutions, diagnose / fix issues as they arise

Proactively look for ways to use data analytics solution to help the business move to a data driven approach to decision making

Help drive adoption of the Networks Data Strategy in a consistent manner across the Networks organisation

Get involved in Data Governance exercises as appropriate and help drive adoption of data governance policies and procedures.

Adhere to all ESB data policies especially data related ones like GDPR etc
Experience & Qualifications
Essential
-
3rd level qualification in a Data or IT related discipline plus at least 3 years industry experience.

Any data specific qualifications or business experience are a distinct advantage.

Some previous experience working with data to solve business problems
-
Excellent communications skills with an ability to present findings to senior audiences a must with an ability to work in a team environment

Proven ability to take the lead in delivering data related solutions to key business stakeholders

Some prior experience of Power BI or similar for creating reports / dashboards / KPI metrics etc.

Some prior experience writing SQL, ideally MS SQL server experience
Desirable

Ability to write Python and R
-
Domain knowledge of a Networks Utility Business
Above all, you must be innovative in your approach and be able to demonstrate your ability to actively contribute to a team that delivers results.
Location
Three Gateway, East Wall Road, hybrid/smart work will be a feature of this role.

Salary
Starting from €48,100 per annum
