Role Description
There are a number of roles available across different engineering disciplines. Typical duties include:

Providing high quality engineering expertise to deliver a variety of projects across ESB. Project work can include early stage concept and development work, planning submissions, detailed design, programme planning, construction management and contract management.

Operations and maintenance roles of ESB assets are also available.
-
Project management and reporting; monitoring of targets, budgets and controls.
-
Collaborating with clients, contractors and internal teams to understand business requirements and design integrated solutions.

Contribute to the development of annual work plans and budgets.
-
Consideration of safety at all stages in projects and operations, promoting a safety culture and demonstrating commitment to safety.

Innovation and continuous learning.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Working as part of this dynamic team, you will always have new challenges and problems to solve – working together is key. You will have the autonomy to choose how best to tackle tasks and solve problems with the support and collaboration of your colleagues.
Essential
-
Third level Engineering qualification.
-
Minimum of 2 years’ experience.
-
Full driving licence and access to a car.
-
The demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
-
A flexible approach to work, especially where necessary to deliver excellent customer service.
-
Strong technical understanding and capability to make informed judgments.
-
Excellent organisational, communication, interpersonal, report writing and problem-solving skills.
-
Proven ability to work in a team to a high level of performance.
Desirable
-
Commercial and project management experience.
-
Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities.
-
Knowledge of Irish safety legislation and construction regulations.
Location
Your base will be at one of our office locations, including our principal offices in Dublin (F27 Fitzwilliam Street, One Dublin Airport Central, Gateway East Wall Road, Leopardstown, Finglas) and Cork (Eastgate, Wilton) as well as other Power Plant or office locations nationwide.
ESB is committed to offering flexibility in ways of working and we call that Smart Working – combining digital tools with a culture of trust and empowerment to enable flexible and remote ways of working. The successful candidate may combine remote/ smart working within Ireland, with attendance at base for in-person collaboration, the frequency of which is agreed with the Manager and subject to ongoing review.
