 Position Description

 

ESB Network’s Workforce Scheduling function has a team of 55 people and plays a key role in the delivery of network services to our 2.5 million electricity customers. The Workforce Scheduling Manager is responsible for managing the nationwide scheduling of work for our Network Technicians as well as connection services for Electricity Suppliers, SEAI and other external stakeholders. 

 

The successful applicant will join at an exciting time, with the implementation of an Oracle Field Force Management solution in 2024 and expansion of scheduling activities over the next four years.  The establishment of a Centre of Excellence to deliver optimum scheduling and dispatch as well as supporting cultural change and managing an expanding team is a key part of this role. 

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Manage, plan, schedule, dispatch the delivery of network services through engagement with internal and external stakeholders 

  • Support the strategic vision definition and roadmap for the implementation of the Oracle Field Force solution in the scheduling team   

  • Establish a Centre of Excellence to expand the range of services to be scheduled as well as product management and reporting analysis   

  • Provide support, expert knowledge and collaborate across ESB Networks to implement the enduring scheduling solution to deliver an enhanced employee and customer experience 

  • Develop, lead and manage network services for external stakeholders to deliver and achieve climate action/housing targets, for example SEAI Warmer Home Scheme, OPW Modular Home Scheme etc. 

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

 

  • A third level qualification is desirable or equivalent work experience

  • At least 5 year’s management experience in a customer focused role  

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills  

  • Customer centric and insights driven  

  • Strong IT skills and technical capability    

  • Ability to collaborate and influence internal and external stakeholders   

  • Analytical and commercially astute  

 

 

Location

 

The Work Force Scheduling team is based in Wilton, Cork so the Workforce Scheduling Manager is required to be in the office at least two days per week, the remainder of the working week can be virtual or based in a suitable ESB Network’s location.

The successful candidate may work flexibly within their jurisdiction with attendance at the workplace for in-person collaboration on at least one anchor day per week. All smart working arrangements are subject to manager approval and ongoing review, based on the operational requirements of the role, the team, and the individual

Salary

 

€80,000 - 94,000  per annum depending on experience
